Why we don’t offer automatic van hire

We at YelloHire are often asked whether we have vans with automatic transmission for hiring in our fleet.

We aim to provide our customers with an excellent service and vehicles that we believe are the best for whatever job you have in mind. However, as automatic gearboxes are not well suited to vans, they are not a great option. We don’t offer vehicles for hire that provide our customers with a poor fuel economy and a poor overall performance. For this reason, we are not alone in not offering automatic van hire. In fact, most hire companies will not provide such vehicles for the same reason.

If you have an automatic license, then you may need to look into having a friend with a full manual license drive the van for you. Alternatively, if you are looking for an automatic because you believe that it will be easier to drive, be assured that the vans in our fleet are a pleasure to drive and we can provide you with any advice you may need.
